Joey, our school mascot, works with students on different parts of The St Joseph’s Way. Each week, Joey helps us focus on behaviours that support a safe, respectful and positive school environment.
This week, Joey is focusing on using safe hands and feet. We are supporting our students to understand that having big feelings is completely normal. What really matters is how we choose to respond to those feelings. We spoke about strategies students can use when they are experiencing big feelings. We encouraged students to:
- walk away if needed
- take time to reset
- use calm words to explain how they are feeling
